Paul Bland Efaw, 87, died on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in McAlester, Oklahoma. Grave side service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday April 19, 2014 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Paul was born in Kendrick, Oklahoma to Loretta Kathryn Bland and Clark C. Efaw on May 6, 1926. He lived there until he was seven years old and moved with his family to Stillwater to a farm northwest of town. He graduated from Oklahoma A & M College with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture and Sociology. Then he studied at Phillips University in Enid for four years. He had planned to become an agricultural missionary, but his plans were interrupted by illness. He was a member of the First Christian Disciples of Christ church.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Forest Efaw, an infant sister, Betsy Katherine Efaw and his sister and her husband, Virginia Mae Hall and Miner C. Hall.
He is survived by his nephews Kent Hall of Richmond, Texas, Fritz Efaw of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Clark Efaw of Smyrna, Georgia. He is also survived and fondly remembered by several cousins, including Wirt Trawick of Stroud, Oklahoma, Frank Miller of Kansas, and Patricia Lantz of Oregon.
