Linda Hesser Henderson Apman, 69, passed away Monday, July 7th, 2014 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. We will celebrate her life at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 12 at the First Christian Church, Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
She was born to Verlin and Marie Hesser July 23rd, 1944 in Glencoe, OK. She graduated from Glencoe High School where she played basketball. Linda married William “Bill” Henderson, who affectionately named her “Red”, in 1962. In September of 1964, they welcomed the light of her life, son, Larry Henderson, into their lives. In September of 1996, her precious grandson, Jacob, was born and stole her heart. In September of 2001, she lost Bill to his battle with cancer. She then married Sonny Apman in October 2003.
After many years as a homemaker, Linda went to work for Evans and Associates Construction and later for EZ Drill until her retirement when she became talented at furniture restoration.
Linda’s warm smile, big heart, and great hugs will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her. She was a member of First Christian Church. She impacted the lives of many she met through local support groups where she faithfully served for many years. Linda was an enthusiastic OSU Cowboys basketball fan, but her greatest joy was the many family and friends that she loved so deeply.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Bill Henderson.
She is survived by her husband, Sonny Apman; son, Larry Henderson and his wife, Andria, of Stillwater; step-son Mark Apman and his significant other, Jessica Weiss; four greatly loved grandchildren; Jacob Henderson and Amy Buttram of Stillwater, Samantha Carman of Edmond, and Allyson Apman of Indiana; siblings, Carl Hesser and David Hesser, both of Glencoe, Barbara Smith and her husband, Jim, of Stillwater. She is also survived by sister-n-laws Louise Richmond and husband, Norman, Rayora Moore and husband, Bill, JoAlice Freeman and husband, Jimmie, Belinda Peterson, Betty Rader, and Deanna Bakker; and many beloved nieces and nephews, and many many close friends.
