Charles LeRoy Terrill, 72, died on Monday, July 4, 2016 at his home in Stillwater, Ok. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Stillwater with Pastor Dale Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Glencoe Cemetery Association (I.O.O.F.). Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Charles was born on September 26, 1943 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Phillip Godby (P.G. “Red”) and Avis Lillis (Hale) Terrill. He attended Lone Star School, Newkirk High School and graduated in 1960 and then went to Oklahoma State University where he graduated in 1963 with a degree in Construction Technology.
Charles married Belva Gean McCroskey on July 30, 1967 in Morrison, Ok and spent 24 years of marriage together until her death in 1991. He worked for Oklahoma Department of Transportation for 38 years in many capacities. He started in 1965 in Stillwater Residency, transferred in 1985 to Perry division 4 headquarters where he retired on December 31, 2003 as Transportation Manger/Auditor for Division 4 which he covered eleven counties.
Charles was a member of the First Christian Church, Lions Club where he served as an officer. He drove the church bus to pickup people who couldn’t drive. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing bridge. He was an avid gardener and spent a lot of time with his grandson, which involved a lot of target shooting.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
He is survived by one daughter Gina Lynne Lasker and her husband Amirul Lasker, grandson Devin Phillip Lasker; Sister Vera Loretta Atkinson.
Pallbearers will be David McCroskey, Robert McCroskey, Amirul Lasker, Devin Lasker, Kenneth King, Mike Vap.
