Donna R. Watson passed away on Nov. 25 after an unexpected illness. After a successful career in dietetics and education, Donna moved to her beloved Truchas. She was incredibly grateful and felt so blessed to have been accepted onto the community. Neighbors became like family members and gathered at her home often. She shared this magical property with her cherished llamas and devoted dogs.
Donna worked at several local businesses in Santa Fe. The original newsstand in La Fonda was one of the most special. She volunteered at Kitchen Angles and Bienvenidos where she made lasting friendships. In recent years, and with failing eyesight, she decided to play bridge at the Hellman Bridge Center. Nothing was going to impede on her energetic and fulfilling quality of life. There she met a new stimulating group of amazing people. Her sons thank you for assisting and contributing to her maintaining such a great outlook on each day.
The two plus decades in Truchas and Santa Fe had to be the pinnacle of a well-traveled, people-oriented, and always involved life.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Donna’s name to one of her favorite organizations: The FoodDepot.org (Northern NM Food Bank; 1222A Siler Rd, Santa Fe, NM), SFeHumaneSociety.org, Oklahoma State University Foundation; OSUGIVING.COM (The Doel Reed Center for the Arts, P.O. Box 1749, Stillwater, OK).
We will miss you the rest of our lives,
Steve and John Watson
