Obituary

Ada Lee White, born March 25th 1955, passed away Monday, January 8th 2024, in OKC, surrounded by the love of her family. She is survived by her sister Sandra Baldwin of Sapulpa, OK. Her daughters, Kent Tehauno (Wilbur Birdshead) of Perkins, OK., Carman Tehauno-Drake (Brad Drake) of Rocky Ford, CO., Lydia Donahue (Christian Spottedwolf) of Lawton, OK. Justina Pewewardy of Arizona, and Michelle Pewewardy of Lawton, OK. Her grandchildren Matias, Marie, Marilyn, Romulus, Zayla, Cyrus, Eva, Cailyn and Amadeus. Her great-grandchildren Mellani, Anthony and Meadow Pewewardy.

Ada attended Fort Sill Indian School in Lawton, OK. As a youth she was an aspiring model till she attended college at Haskell Jr. College in Lawrence, KS. She is preceded in death by her parents Nelson and Vera White, her grandfather The Last Hereditary Chief of the Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma - Soloman 'Nawanaway' Kent. Her siblings: Ava, Martha, Nelson Jr., Movita, Marilyn and John Mutteloke. Her nephew Starling Jr. Knight, daughter Lila Donahue and her life partners Stanton Pewewardy and William Pawnee.

Services will be held in the Bah-Kho-Je Chena building at the Iowa Tribe Powwow Grounds in Perkins, OK. Wake service will be January 11th 2024 at 8 PM followed by a midnight dinner. January 12th 2024 at 11:30 AM. Feast to follow at the powwow grounds.
