Amy was born on May 9, 1979, in Englewood, Colorado. She graduated from Cherry Creek High School in Englewood in 1997. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Metropolitan School of Denver and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Colorado. After graduation, she taught science at Arvada West High School in Arvada, Colorado. In 2014, she moved to Stillwater, along with several great friends. Amy served as a Clinical Instructor in the Education Department at Oklahoma State University from 2014 through the current school year. She also wrote a series of lessons for the neutral buoyancy lab at Johnson Space Center (NASA).
One of the best things about Amy was her friendly and caring nature. Her smile would melt your heart, and her voice would lift you up. Amy was a model aunt to her niece and nephew, always looking for the next way to let them know how much she loved them. She also loved her dog, June, and volunteered for Pete's Pet Posse, a pet therapy program sponsored by OSU. She had a wide range of interests and enjoyed various activities, including hiking, fishing, cooking, arts and crafts, and music.
Amy was actively involved in her church where she provided generous service to many. Amy had such a servant heart and would constantly put other people first. She was gifted in hospitality and making people feel at ease from opening her house up to mission trips visiting, to blessing people through her incredible culinary skills, to gifting homemade gifts, to sharing God's wisdom unapologetically. Amy used her music skills serving as a Vintage Faith's worship team and as needed elsewhere. She faithfully served in children's ministry, teaching school-age kids, and taking care of younger children. She was a part of the worship team and also lead worship at Vintage Faith. One summer she led a women's study on prayer and it deeply impacted others.
Amy was preceded in death by her grandparents Harlan and Alice (Kimball) Olson and Francis and Shirley (Rock) Speltz; her uncles Tim and Nick Speltz; aunts Cyndi (Speltz) Gipp and Ann Marie Speltz; and cousin Michael Bruggeman.
Amy is survived by her parents, Todd and Becky (Speltz) Olson of Middletown, Delaware; her brother Daniel and wife Heather Olson; niece Kyra Olson; and nephew Connor Olson, all of Voorhees, New Jersey; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
