Ann Bernhardt Cramer Williams passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025. Ann had an awe-inspiring ability to plan, organize, and accomplish any task. She used those skills as a mother, wife, homemaker, teacher, community volunteer, and businesswoman.
Ann loved spending time with family and friends, watching sports, skiing, playing tennis, going to the state fair (for the food), traveling, playing bridge, Spite and Malice, and Mexican Train. She was always up for riding a roller coaster, performing a spontaneous cheerleading or tap-dancing routine, or trying new things just for the thrill.
Ann was a member of the Stillwater High School class of '57 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Oklahoma State University in 1961. After graduation, she married and moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma, where she taught first grade, kindergarten, and remedial reading for fourth, fifth, and sixth graders. She also served as district vice president of primary education. In 1969, she envisioned and created a hearing screening program for elementary school students in Bartlesville and ran the program until 1990.
Strongly believing in the combined effort of parents and schools in children's education, she was a homeroom mother, PTA president and served on text adoption and parental guidance committees for city schools. She was also extremely involved in her children's activities, including church, school, and sports.
Her participation in local organizations included Oklahoma State University Alumni Association Vice President, YWCA Board of Directors, Red Cross Board of Directors, and Blazer Sports Board of Directors. Other volunteer work included the hospital, United Way, Mutual Girls Club, Concern Day Care Center for Working Mothers, Stephen Ministries, and delivering Meals-on-Wheels. A member of the Bartlesville Service League, she held many office positions and headed many committees, including management of the organization's consignment business. Ann was active in her church as Bible and Sunday School teacher for children and adults, nominating committee and administrative board, and as a youth choir tour chaperone and fund-raising chairperson. She also held office positions in P.E.O., Jaycee-ettes, Eastern Star, and Chi-Omega as a student and alum.
Following her first husband's death in 1982, she worked as a travel agent, and then as an office manager for an independent oil producer. After she re-married in 1989, she was co-owner/operator of a fishing and hunting lodge in Canada. While operating that business with her husband John, she designed and contracted development of a software program for managing hunting and fishing lodges. After the death of her second husband in 2002, Ann worked as a family care counselor for Strode Funeral Home.
Her husband, Richard Cramer, husband, John Williams, and her parents, Marie and William Bernhardt, preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters Cathy and Laura Cramer, and brother Bill Bernhardt, a large extended family including step-children and grandchildren, and many close friends.
Special thanks to hospice, Primrose staff and caregivers who loved and cared for her the last year of her life.
Celebrations of her life will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 6th at Strode Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and 2:00 PM, Tuesday, graveside at Memorial Park Cemetery, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, followed by a reception at Tumbleweeds Steakhouse in Bartlesville.
