Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Barry Joe Edmonson was born March 8, 1964. He was born to Sharon and Joe Edmonson. He had one older brother, Robert Edmonson, who preceded him in death. Barry's Celebration of Life will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Stillwater Church of Christ.
Growing up, Barry lived in many different towns, including Texas for a time, but mostly in Oklahoma. Barry grew a love for playing instruments, playing the piano and singing, just to name a few.
While in Highschool Barry participated in special olympics where he placed in several events. He was known for his perfect attendance. Also, while in high school, Barry gained a step family with many sisters and then finally his little sister, Heather. Barry Graduated Highschool in Perry, Oklahoma in 1983.
Barry was a very independent person. He held numerous jobs and had a love for many things. He enjoyed poetry, playing his keyboard, reading and studying, especially the Bible which he could quote front to back. He had a knack for remembering everything. His ultimate enjoyment was going to church and singing in the choir. Oh, how he loved it, and he especially loved Jesus.
On Barry's birthday in 2002, he married his first love, Mary Louise Roberson. He was a dedicated husband and devoted step dad to Louise' son, Troy. After Louise passing in December 2008, Barry finally found the love of his life in Tonya Hunt. They were married in November of 2014. They were like two peas in a pod, doing everything together. There was no separating them. His life was truly enriched by Tonya and her loving family, who cared for Barry like their own. Tonya sadly preceded him in passing in January 2022.
Barry lived a wonderfully full 59 years. Barry passed according to records on May 20, 2023 at 10:25 A.M. Only the Lord knows the exact time he entered eternal life. His soul now resides with our Heavenly Father. He has no more sorrow or pain. It's a place full of glory. There is a place for you too, if you choose.
Barry's memories live on through his sister Heather Shuler (Anthron); his step-sister Roberta Mote (Roger). His loving In-laws Jeanice Peterson (Charlie); sister-in-law Heather Booth and his nephews and nieces Kenneth Jack, Titus Shuler and Cameron Booth, as well as other family members.
John 11:25-26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
