Stillwater resident Bernice Lucille Walker, 100, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at First United Methodist Church in Stillwater, OK. Burial will follow at Marshall South Cemetery in Marshall, OK. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Bernice was born February 23, 1925 in Marshall, OK to David and Emma Friend. She grew up on a farm near Marshall with five sisters and one brother. She was baptized and confirmed in Evangelical and Reformed Church in Marshall, OK. Bernice attended elementary and high school in Marshall where she was active in 4H Club. She later graduated from Oklahoma A & M College with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics Education. She started her teaching career teaching Homemaking at Geary, OK. Junior and Senior School from 1947 to 1952. On July 29, 1951, she married George Junior Walker in Marshall, OK. Bernice was active in the Washington Parent Teacher Association serving as Treasurer, Secretary, and Home Room Mother. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ponca City, OK for 43 years where she taught Bible School, Church School, served as Church School Coordinator, Nursery Chairman, Choir Mother, active in the Women's Association, Board of Deacons, Elder, and Hand Bell Choir. In 1980 she was awarded Oklahoma Merit Mother of the Year. She joined the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater in December of 2000 and was active in U.M.W., Handbell Choir and Alpha. She also enjoyed sewing for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and 2 brother-in-laws, and a daughter in law: Stephanie Walker.

She is survived by a son; Lloyd Jonathan Walker and wife Debbie Hendrix of Harrah, OK, daughter; Sara Walker Fox and husband Greg of Stillwater, OK, daughter; Carol Ann Dille and husband Brice Dille of Oklahoma City, OK, and son; Mark David Walker and wife Debi of Jones, OK, grandchildren; Jonathon Cole Walker and wife Tessa of Meeker, OK, Aimee Beth Rowland and husband Jason of Stillwater, OK, Matthew Michael Clayton of Tulsa, OK, Walker Brice Dille and wife Addison of Midland, TX, William Mark Dille and wife Amanda of Oklahoma City, OK, Luke George Waker of Chicago, IL, Katie Lynn Walker and Mollie Marie Walker of Austin, TX, and eight great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Waylon Rowland, Hadley Walker, Beck, Stevie Jane, and Banks Dille, Fynn and Goldie Dille, sister; Leta Willhouse and husband Albert of Indianapolis, IN, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
