Brian Jay Campbell passed on from this world on March 14, 2026. Brian was a beloved part of the Stillwater community, and he will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.

A visitation with family present will be from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Strode Funeral Home. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.

Brian was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma on January 10, 1960 to Dwight Stanley Campbell and Patty Coleen Campbell.

He is survived by his two sons Nathan Dwight Campbell and Michael Curtis Campbell, his brothers Todd Alan Campbell and Jeffrey Lee Campbell, and his beloved dog, Kody Blue, the Montana Menace.

Brian's legacy will continue to shine in the lives of the people that were blessed enough to have met him, having a positive impact on every single person around him and every organization in which he was involved. Brian had a profound passion for his faith, education, his community, and sports. He was a long-time member of Countryside Baptist Church; volunteering with many events, especially their Recess program, loving to work the chat from the Eagle's Nest during Sunday services, and being honored to host a Sunday School lesson every week at Brookdale Senior Living facility.

Graduating from Oklahoma State University in 1983 with a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in education, Brian started his educational career in the technical school system, teaching Office Computing at Central Area Vo-Tech in Drumright, Oklahoma and eventually joining the State Department of Career Tech in Stillwater. His desire for students was evident throughout his years of service as a judge and the "voice" of multiple CareerTech student organizations. He also found great joy in supporting the CareerTech Foundation scholarship program and took great pride in his involvement with their Hall of Fame banquet. He finished his time in the classroom teaching business and computing classes at Union High School in Tulsa. His transition away from the classroom led to Brian accepting a Sales Representative position with textbook publishing company Thomson Learning, which later became Cengage/ National Geographic Learning. He ended his career where it all started, returning to work at the State Department of CareerTech supporting various K12 programs and technology centers as a regional coordinator, fulfilling his commitment to the Oklahoma technical school system and the educators and students that they empower.

Later in life, Brian was enthusiastic about his desire to be active in the community of the city he called home. Joining Leadership Stillwater in 2023, he developed an appreciation and knowledge for how the civic processes, local businesses, and nonprofits were necessary for the function of the city and its ability to assist its residents. The following year, he became a coach for the next class of Leadership Stillwater, continuing his devotion to community service. He volunteered with United Way, he was involved with the Chamber of Commerce, and he became particularly ardent about working with Payne County Youth Services, humbly accepting the honor of Outstanding Board Member of the Year in 2025.

However, as a surprise to no one that knew him, outside of his family and his faith, his singular love in life was sports. He grew up playing anything he could in school and with friends, he played on multiple co-ed baseball and softball teams in his early adulthood, and he officiated high school football with the OSSAA for many years. He loved Oklahoma State wrestling, attending every home dual when he wasn't traveling, and he was always honored and excited to assist the National Wrestling Hall of Fame when inducting new members during their National Honors Weekend every year. But no sport or sports organization outshined his love for Oklahoma State Football. He was a season ticket holder for over two decades, he traveled to every bowl game he could, and he woke up at 6am every Saturday morning to take two pots of his famous queso to his favorite tailgate crew before heading up to Boone Pickens Stadium to yell and cheer for the team that he loved his entire life. Go Pokes! He was a uniquely optimistic man, bringing unadulterated joy to friends and complete strangers alike. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends, but his legacy will persevere through the impact of the marks he made and the lives that he touched.
