Obituary

We are saddened to announce the passing of Carman Murphy Rice, 34, of Stillwater, died Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Stillwater. Burial will follow in the Pawnee Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Carman was born to William (Bill) Murphy and Jill Murphy Palma on May 27, 1991, in Stillwater. She attended Intelitech/R-5 High School. She attended the First Christian Church. Carman married Andrew Rice on July 25, 2025. She was an avid reader and loved to watch movies. She liked to sneak and check her younger sister out of school so they could stand in line all day for new movie premieres.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Rice; Maternal Grandfather Mel Miller; Paternal great-grandparents, William and Ella Murphy; grandmother Opal McKinney; Aunts Carol Murphy and Merry Murphy.

Carman is survived by her father, William (Bill) Murphy; Mother Jill Murphy Palma and significant other, Anthony Pearl; son Aiden Duenas; daughters Graciella (Ella) Duenas and Rainey Rascon; her brother, Tyler Lee Murphy and sister Cailee Murphy; uncles Richard Lee Wilson, Brian and his wife Kelly Miller and Ellis Miller; her aunt Melissa and her husband Terry Moynahan and her grandmother Mariann Miller as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and special thank you to the First Christian Church of Stillwater, the Pawnee Tribe, and the Rice family of Pawnee, as well as to special friends Keishaano and TJ.
