Obituary

Carolyn RaGyne Crank, long-time Stillwater resident, crossed over on Monday, May 27, 2024, at home in Edmond, Oklahoma. A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 in Sunset Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 411 West Matthews, Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Carolyn was born August 14, 1929, in Wichita, Kansas to Cecil and Maureen Hawkins.

She graduated from Mount Carmel Academy in Wichita, Kansas. She attended Arkansas City Junior College and worked at Southwestern Bell as a service representative. She later became office manager at Zales Jewelry. Carolyn worked with the American Red Cross for 30 years, both as a volunteer and then as the executive director of the Stillwater/Payne County chapter. She retired in 1998.

Carolyn loved to swim, dance, and be with family and friends. She was a volunteer for social security as a payee for three ladies, she called "her girls." Carolyn was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha and the After Five Women's Club. She loved volunteering.

An active member of the First Christian Church in Stillwater, she sang in the choir, participated in the 3Ms Sunday School class, the Ruth Group, and Christian Women's Fellowship.

Carolyn is predeceased by her parents. Her husband Frank Crank of 60 years, and son Malcolm Crank.

Those who will miss her enchanting smile and zest for life are her children Cynthia Rolfe of Edmond, Lisa and Jeffrey Coffman of Flower Mound, Texas, Shelley Ricker, Stillwater; grandchildren Jessica and Jimmy Bullock, Kyle and Billee Jo Coffman, Chelsey Coffman, Delena and Larry Elliott, Sesha and Beau Lee; great grandchildren Isac Bullock, Jordan Bullock, Trystan Becker (Jesse), Hunter Lee (John), Darian Lee, Jane and Al Englese, Matthew and Mieke Hartman. Surviving siblings include Bob and Madaline Harding, Leland, North Carolina; Bobbie Aupperle, Stillwater; Cecil Hawkins, Amarillo; and Campbell and Ginger Hawkins, Collierville, Tennessee; and Kathy Drain and Kenny Balch, Edmond.

In lieu of customary remembrances she loved the idea of planting a memorial tree (available on the Strode Funeral Home web site). Charitable organizations near and dear to her heart included the Ruth Group, First Christian Church, Stillwater, Oklahoma; American Red Cross; and Humanity Hospice, Edmond, Oklahoma.
