On October 1, 2025, Claudia Frances Stearman, age 89, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior. She fought a gallant fight with illness and has now gone home. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the Mammoth Baptist Church, 339943 E. Highway 62 in Meeker, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Claudia was born on February 1, 1936, in Washington, OK to William Floyd and Elsie Kuenkel Ramseyer. She was the youngest of 9 children. Claudia graduated from Meeker High School with the class of 1953. On November 13, 1953, she married the love of her life, Doyle Stearman. They were blessed to be married 72 wonderful years, with 2 children 2 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandsons. Claudia loved being a mom and grandma and enjoyed anytime she could be with family. Her grandchildren Andrew and Lacy were the light of her life!
Claudia worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for a short while and then went to work for Lincoln County as a Deputy Court Clerk. She was the "raise your right hand" gal in court. In the early 1980's she decided to become the sidekick to Doyle, who was a truck driver. After a few years of traveling together she decided to get her CDL and become a truck driver as well. They were able to see many beautiful places traveling all over the United States.
Doyle and Claudia were faithful members of Morning Star Baptist Church and then Mammoth Baptist. Claudia loved singing in the choir every Sunday.
In their early years they enjoyed going to the lake and water skiing. It was a family tradition to be at the lake every Friday and Saturday with family and friends. They also had fun riding motorcycles with family and friends.
Claudia is preceded in death by her husband Doyle, her parents, and siblings Jayne Vaughan, Bill Ramseyer, Elsie Mae Putnam , Marjorie Salwaechter, Andrew Ramseyer, Frank Ramseyer, and Jackson Ramseyer.
Claudia is survived by her two daughters, Carla Hobbs of Meeker, OK and Kim and her husband Nick Junior of Bedford, TX. Two grandchildren, Andrew Junior and his wife Maggie, Lacy and her husband Brad Kincaid, four great-grandsons, Rex and Beau Junior and Gunner and Halen Kincaid, her sister Rose Marie Leveridge and many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
