Obituary

Curtis Booth Kent, 80, of Stillwater, passed away on February 29, 2024, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was born on May 2, 1943, in Quincy, Illinois. He married Shirley "Sally" Rose Trefftz on April 6, 1973 in Sparta, Illinois.A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2024 in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Curtis attended Quincy High School and graduated with a BA degree from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. Following college, he joined the Army ROTC and took great pride in serving his country. Curtis began his printing career with World Color Press in Sparta, Illinois. While employed with World Color, he and his family moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. In 1999, Quebecor Printing acquired World Color Press and became Quebecor World Inc. Curtis continued his career with Quebecor where he made significant contributions until he retired.

Curtis will be dearly missed by his surviving family members, including his brother Roger Kent, sister Laura Kent Donahue, son John Kent, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sally Kent, son Layne Kent and parents, Laurence and Mary Lou Kent.

Curtis was a truly kind man who always had a smile to share. He had a wonderful laugh - when Curtis laughed, you couldn't help but laugh with him. We celebrate the legacy of Curtis Booth Kent - a legacy of service to his country and dedication to his work - and we will forever remember Curtis and the love he had for his family.
