Curtis S. Slaton, age 84, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Stillwater Medical Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held in Ashland, Kansas on April 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m.

Curtis was born to Wayne and Thelma Slaton on October 25, 1939 in Enid, Oklahoma. He was raised on the family farm near Manchester, Oklahoma. He attended the Wakita Public Schools, working on the farm during the summer. Curtis attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1961 with an accounting degree.

He married Annetta Mick on December 29, 1961 in Stillwater before moving to Ashland, Kansas. He began working at the Mathews agency as a public accountant. Within a few years Mr. Mathews retired and Curtis bought the tax business. They were active members in the community and church. They had two daughters. Curtis and Annetta divorced in 1972.

Curtis was an active member in his church, Ashland United Methodist. He enjoyed going to the high school football games and attending the community / county events.

On March 5, 1977 Curtis married Sally Ann Rohlf, they resided in Ashland where Sally's children finished school. They had a shop downtown where Sally made stained glass and Curtis framed pictures. When Curtis retired, they enjoyed spending time in Cuchara, Colorado during the summers.

Curtis enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, scrapbooking, and genealogy. He loved to be surrounded by family where he would sit, watching and chuckling at their interactions.

He is survived by wife, Sally Slaton; children, Sharon (Tommy) Bryan, Marcia (Kevin) Prince, Craig (Anna Paula) Foster, Mark (Mary) Rohlf, Dawn (Ronnie) Carter, and Ron Rohlf. Along with 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
