David Bruce LeBaron, 71, passed from this life on September 17, 2023 surrounded by family. A celebration of his life will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, September 24, 2023 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel.
David was born November 9th, 1951 to Bruce Medford LeBaron and Mary Juanita Bookout, and he was raised by his mother and Robert Forbes White in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
David attended Stillwater High School where he sang in the concert chorus, and in bands. In college at OSU, he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. Throughout his life, he had many adventures, singing in bands and hitchhiking across the United States, living in Hawaii with Lynn Colbert. He lived in Lake Tahoe, CA from 1973-1987 where he worked on the M.S Dixie and at Harrah's Tahoe.
He married the love of his life, Carol Broaddus, in 1974 and in 1987, they moved back home to Stillwater to be with family. David worked for many years at the City of Stillwater and for Whitwer Construction as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Sunnybrook Christian Church, where he sang regularly for the congregation and assisted in teaching Sunday school.
David is preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter, Zella Beers, son-in-law, David Beers, sisters-in-law Sue Ann Broaddus Massey and Kaye Broaddus Williams.
David is survived by his wife, Carol Broaddus LeBaron; his daughter, Emily Beers; two grandchildren, Nicole and Zen; his sisters Cheryl and husband John Gleisner, Suzanne and husband Larry Whitham, Diana and husband Brad Fowler; his brother, Rob and wife Tracy LeBaron; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gae and Kyle Mathis, Bill and Billie Letcher, and Bill Williams; as well as many loved nieces and nephews.
