Delores Ann (Williams) Short, 88 of Stillwater passed away peacefully in her home on December 29, 2024 surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 6 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Steve Roach officiating. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Delores was born in Okemah on November 29, 1936 to Jack and Ollie (Willett) Williams. She attended school in Stillwater and Oklahoma State University. During college she met the love of her life Guy Scott Short Jr. and married on April 17, 1957.

Delores was preceded in death by her brother Bob Williams of Denver CO, parents, husband, children-David Short and Guy Steven Short and grandson SSG Christopher Hake. Delores is survived by her brother Mike Williams (Liz) and her two children, son Rick Short (Debbie) and daughter Tracy Sodowsky (Stet) of Stillwater. Grandchildren include Gary Short (Becky), Kelli Hake (Jeff), Justin Bunch (Andi), Cole Bunch (Tiffany), Tara Elliott (Tyler), Wytni Kennedy (Cody), Jake Sodowsky (Kelsey), Megan Hess (Luke), Austin Short, Hailey Rhodes and twenty great grandchildren.

She was well known as the family matriarch and enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping, bowling, golf and all OSU athletics. Her home was always open to family and friends to enjoy great food and her company.

The family would like to thank the staff at both Stillwater Medical Center and OU Health Center and the compassionate care given by Judith Karmen Hospice.
