Obituary

Donald Herman Blosch departed his earthly home and went to be with his Lord and Savior in heaven on March 14, 2025, at the age of 83 years. His spirit rose above the burning flames of the Stillwater Wildfires that day, to a peace and calmness we can all seek. This was his final journey.

Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm Saturday, March 22, 2025, at the Stillwater Bible Church with burial following at the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Don was born on December 23, 1941, to Opal Irene Blosch and Herman Donald Blosch in Marfa, Texas, near an army base where his father was assigned. His dad eventually passed away when Don was a young boy and his mother raised him, his sister Joyce and little brother Danny.

They lived in Bristow, Oklahoma where Don attended school. He loved cars, camping, hunting and fishing with his buddies. He would later join the Oklahoma Army National Guard unit in Bristow and he talked those buddies into joining up with him. The Unit Administrator Jim Bennett mentored them. Don was very close to Jim, as he helped to fill a fatherly void. He instilled an interest in Don of serving soldiers' needs later in his life. Don also joined the US Navy and served on the "USS Midway". It is now a museum docked in San Diego, California.

Don married Lorita (McDaniel) Murphy who had two children, Wayne and Sherry. He worked at McDonnell Douglas Aerospace in Tulsa, Oklahoma as an airplane mechanic. He also was a seismic crewman and a truckdriver in his life. He often told stories about his scary travels while driving. At some point, Don was a businessman. He and Lorita owned a ladies' "Ready to Wear" shop and a liquor store.

Eventually, he would go to work as a full-time Unit Administrator with the Oklahoma Army National Guard, coming full circle career wise. He lost his wife a bit after that and was left raising their small children, Debbie and Donnie.

Don was quite sad, but he continued on until he met Carol J. (Williams) Caudle who was also a "Thunderbird". Don's brother, Danny, became their matchmaker since he loaned Don money to take Carol on a date while they were at Annual Training at the White Sands Missile Base located at Ft. Bliss, Texas. They were soon married on August 20, 1978. Their courtship and marriage were solid and beautiful. They were together for 46 years and experienced many wonderful times. Two children were born, Scott and Cody, and they became a blended family of six.

They moved to Bristow and Don continued his job as an administrator in the 45th Infantry Brigade "The Thunderbirds" of OKARNG until he retired after 33 years of combined military service.

While he was still working, he transferred to Stillwater and they inherited a parcel of land north of Morrison, Oklahoma and began to make a new home out in the country. They lived a lifelong dream of Don's to own land and a cow-calf operation. It was named the "Cross B Ranch". He loved it there and he worked hard to make it successful.

Unfortunately, ten years later his health took a turn and they had to move back to Stillwater, closer to doctors and the hospital. That is where he finished the last part of his life. Loving his backyard, flowers, birds, and trees. And of course, his dog Dolly.

Survivors are his wife Carol J. Blosch of the home; sister Joyce Ann Hinkle (Dennis), Jenks, Oklahoma; brother James Daniel Blosch (Nancy) Bristow; daughter Deborah Ann Inselman (Ronald) Stillwater; sons Donald Herman Blosch II, Owasso, Oklahoma and Robert "Scott" Blosch, Stillwater and Raymond "Cody" Blosch (Kristy), Edmond; granddaughter Trinity Blosch, Stillwater; grandsons Ryann Inselman (Amanda) Jenks, Noah Blosch, Edmond, Judah Blosch, Edmond, Kyle Blosch, Edmond, Trenton Don Inselman (Maci), Stillwater, Kendyl Blosch (Brianna) Catoosa, Oklahoma, Jacob Blosch, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Eian Blosch, Colorado.
