Obituary

Donna Alicia (Bolenbaugh) Tefft arrived on this earth January 19, 1933 and returned home on September 26, 2025. Funeral services will begin 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Born in Enid, Oklahoma to Hazel (Nelson) and Preston Bolenbaugh, Donna lived a life full of faith, love of family and friends and appreciation of nature. She continually expressed gratitude for her 92 years full of wonderful and varied experiences.

As her children write this obituary, we want to acknowledge her love and guidance over the years. She taught us how to be the best we could be. She taught us how to be strong, take care of others and bond as a family. She led by example by showing unconditional love and support, not only for family and friends but also for the larger community around her. It was an honor to be able to care for her over the past two years and we grew closer as a family because of this opportunity to return her love.

Born in the worst year of the depression, Donna enjoyed life on her parents' farm, playing with her brother, Keith and attending school in Hunter, Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma A&M, earning a degree in Food and Nutrition in the College of Home Economics. There she met her future husband, Charles Tefft, and they were married on December 20, 1953. As Charles was serving in the Army, they first lived on bases in Tooleel, Utah and San Juan, Puerto Rico where their first daughter was born. The young family returned to Hunter, Oklahoma to farm and three more daughters were born.

Donna enjoyed parenting and working with her daughters on their activities. When her children were all in grade school, she returned to college and earned her M.A. in Elementary Education at Phillips University in Enid. She worked creating the kindergarten program at Hunter and eventually taught the kindergarten for a decade in Hunter and Pond Creek. Once she retired, she and Charles combined travel and ministry by volunteering for 20+ UMC Volunteer Missions. Together with special friends, they served in Central and South America, the U.S, Africa, Russia and England. She also kept busy with other church activities, the United Women of Faith and the Home Extension Club. Upon the death of her husband, she moved to Stillwater to be closer to her daughters and their families and to attend OSU sporting events. She continued volunteer work in the First United Methodist Church, Daily Bread and the OSU Botanic Gardens.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Keith Bolenbaugh and his wife, Dorothy Bolenbaugh.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Donna is survived by her four daughters Carol Prickett, Arlene Curry, Donita Tefft and Charlita Tefft; her much appreciated sons-in-law Kent Prickett and Dave Curry, her adored grandchildren and their spouses, Charles and Lisa Prickett, Sara and Christian Kosted, Rob and Clare Prickett, Austin and Katie Prickett, Renee and Jay Minaya, Robert and Emily Curry, Brian Tefft and Jonathan Tefft; and thirteen beloved great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Erica Butler and Kathy Rosa-Coe for their loving care over the past two years as well as family and friends who kept her spirits up by visiting.

Memorials can be made to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation - Cancer research.
