Dora Ellen Covey, 84, passed from this world April 8, 2024. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Fay, Oklahoma.


Dora was born in a log cabin on May 27,1939 to William and Dora Derr in Perkins, Oklahoma. She Grew up in Yale, and was a 1958 graduate of Yale High School. Dora was a long-time member of Christ Christian Church and Siloam Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.


Dora is preceded in death by both parents, her husband of 32 years, DWE Covey; her daughter Georgia Slater; brothers, James, William, Edward, and Raymond Derr; her sisters, Mary Henshaw, Martha McClendon, Jessie Castleberry, Alice Sholten, Rosie Benz; and her great grandson, Christopher Dominic Dobbs.


She is survived by her sisters, Fern Dennis, Anna Ely, and Susan Moor; her daughter, Christine Buie of Bridge Creek, Oklahoma; sons Charles Slater, Dothan Alabama, and Elmer Radford of Yukon; her grandchildren Christopher Dobbs, Jessica Hixson, Charles Slater Jr, Chastity Cofer, Kendra Radford, and Kendal Radford; great grandchildren Anthony Eyman, Ashley Fidler, Jordan Burris, Joseph Dobbs, Ryan Hixson, Alicia Northcutt, Keyvon Collins; as well as her great-great grandchildren, Isabella Lopez and Jace Dobbs



Dora will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
