Born to Jonas L. and Lou (White) Spiva on October 6, 1928, Doris Spiva Wilson was raised in the communities of Sulphur and Stillwater, Oklahoma. She graduated from Stillwater High School in 1947 and shortly thereafter on August 26, 1947 she married the love of her life, W. D. "Dale" Wilson, affectionately known as "Jiggs".

Early in their marriage, Doris and Dale embraced the adventure of military life, living in Germany, Texas, and Missouri while raising their two young sons, Steven D. Wilson and James D. "Dan" Wilson. Doris later worked at Swan Rubber Company and the Stillwater Vision Clinic, where her work ethic and care for others left lasting impressions.

In retirement, Doris and Dale found joy in travel and fishing, particularly cherishing their winters spent in South Texas and Florida. Their strong faith and sense of community were anchored at Mehan Union Church, where they were devoted members. After Dale's passing, Doris moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and became part of the Faith United Methodist Church family.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband Dale, her parents, her sisters Lois Spiva, Lena Allinson, and Reta Keys, her twin brother Dale Spiva, and brothers Paul, Willard, Howell, and J.C. Spiva.

She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Anita Wilson of Edmond, and Dan and Sonja Wilson of Tulsa. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Cory, Michael, Bill, Angie, Beth, and Jenna; as well as eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her deep joy and pride.

Doris was committed to supporting M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. If inspired to remember her in this manner, please donate on-line or mail your gift to PO Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486.

Doris' family would like to particularly thank her loving and compassionate caregivers over the past four years. They enriched her life and ours immeasurably.
