Carlus Doyle Stearman, 90, of Meeker, Oklahoma passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the Mammoth Baptist Church in Meeker. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Doyle was born on January 6, 1935 in Meeker to Raymond and Norma (Gallaway) Stearman. He was raised in Meeker where he graduated high school with the class of 1953.
On November 13, 1953 he married the love of his life, Claudia Ramseyer. They were blessed to be married 72 wonderful years, with two children, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Doyle was a truck driver all of his life. He was able to see many beautiful places in the United States while he was driving. In his later driving days he was blessed with Claudia becoming his truck driving buddy. She drove as well and they were able to travel together. His favorite gig was working for the Welborns! Well, he really liked mechanical work! He was always putting a rear end in a recliner!
Doyle and Claudia were faithful members of Morning Star Baptist Church and then Mammoth Baptist. Doyle and his family were avid lake people. He loved to water ski and teach everyone else as well. Weekends were always filled with trips to the lake but Sunday mornings we were always back for church. He loved spending time with his family. He was blessed to live between his parents and his baby brother Herschel, so he could see them anytime he wanted.
Doyle is preceded in death by his parents and brother Herschel and sister Joyce.
Doyle is survived by his wife Claudia of the home; his daughters Carla Hobbs of Meeker and Kim and her husband Nick Junior of Bedford, Texas; two grandchildren, Lacy Kincaid and her husband Brad and Andrew Junior and his wife Maggie; four great-grandsons, Gunner and Halen Kincaid, Rex and Beau Junior and many other family members and friends.
