Obituary

Emmett "Earl" (Sonny) Rogers was born October 28, 1945 to Emmett and Iva Rogers in Stillwater Oklahoma. He grew up in Friends Chapel Church with his family. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, and was proud of his show dogs for which he won many trophies. He worked most of his life in the oil field as a tool pusher. After he retired from the oil field he drove a truck for a feedlot until he retired. He enjoyed caring for his cows, going to auctions and cow sales and Sports! He was a big Yankee's fan. He kept the roads hot and was quite the social butterfly with many friends. He was one tough cowboy. A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2024 at Oak Grove Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

He was proceeded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, Jaquita Gardner and husband Doug of Muskogee, Naomi Rogers of Stillwater, Kayla Robbins of Cushing, and Emmett Phillips of Stillwater, one brother Dickie Rogers and wife Linda of Stillwater, one niece, Julie Howard of Coyle, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of cousins and many friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to David McIntyre, Mike Oyler and Mark Bates for all their time, compassion, concern and friendship shown to our dad over the years and especially during this last month.
