Eva Marie Linsenmeyer, aged 68, passed away on July 17, 2024 at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. A private burial will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Ripley, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Eva was born August 24, 1955 in Stillwater to Harry Albert and Irmgard Rose Linsenmeyer and was the second of three children.
Growing up on a farm, Eva was no stranger to the chores accompanying such a childhood. From caring for the chickens, cattle and hogs to gardening and helping around the house, there was never a lack of things needing to be done. There are plenty of stories that could be told growing up with 2 sisters sharing country life adventures.
Eva graduated from C. E. Donart High School in Stillwater in 1973. In 1975 she married Ernie Adkins. Their son, Travis Scott Adkins, was born in1979. She and Ernie later divorced.
Eva worked outside the home in various capacities throughout her adult years before settling into full-time farm life once again. She loved her son very much and enjoyed talking about and hearing stories of the latest happenings in the lives of him and his wife. She cherished those times together. Additionally, keeping up with near and distant relatives brought her much joy. In recent years, she could be found tending horses with her faithful blue healer at her side and along with the daily activities you could find her at Cross Brand Cowboy Church on most Sundays attending services. She was loved and will be missed.
Eva is survived by her son, Travis Adkins and his wife Sarah Ann of Duncan, Oklahoma; her sisters Irma Linsenmeyer and Mary Wedel and husband Randy, all of Stillwater. She is also survived by her nephew Jonathan Wedel and niece Madison Braught and their respective spouses and children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Irmgard.
