Gary Lee Allen, 73, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away on May 6, 2025. A funeral service to honor his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12, 2025, at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He will be laid to rest at Bethel Cemetery in Glencoe. Strode funeral service is in charge of arrangements.


Gary was born on October 7, 1951, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to John Wilburn Allen and Mary Mildred "Millie" Allen. He graduated from Cushing High School and went on to spend 28 years in the grocery business before joining Armstrong World Industries, where he worked until his retirement in 2021.


On April 17, 1987, Gary married Betty Spencer Allen, and with that marriage, he became stepfather to Matthew Wessel. Family was at the center of Gary's life. He especially cherished his role as "Papa" to his three grandchildren: Laynee, Easton, and Reeve.


Gary enjoyed the simple things in life. He found peace in fishing, reading, riding his tractor, and spending time outdoors. His steady presence, strong work ethic, and quiet sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him.


He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Millie Allen, and his brother, Jim Allen.


Gary is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Betty Allen; his step-son, Matthew Wessel and wife Georgia; and his grandchildren, Laynee, Easton, and Reeve.


Gary Lee Allen lived a life marked by dedication and love. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
