Obituary

Georgia Faye Whitworth, 85 years of age, passed away on September 6, 2024 at her home in Glencoe, Oklahoma. Services will be held at a later date. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Georgia was born August 8, 1939 in Caddo, Oklahoma to the late Joseph and Minnie Parker. She was the next to youngest of 11 children all who have preceded her in death.

Georgia married Aaron Whitworth in 1957 and they had one child.

Georgia attended Lubbock High School and graduated with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Pittsburgh State University.

She was an elementary teacher at Sapulpa Public Schools for over 30 years.

After retiring she became an avid hobbyist including sewing, quilting, stained glass, basket making, gardening, furniture repair, and antiquing. She loved fishing with her husband. As a member of the Cimarron Valley Quilters Guild, she used her quilting machine to quilt well over 100 quilts for charity as well as quilts for family and friends.

During the spring and summer, you could find her out tending her garden. She loved plants.

She is survived by her daughter Rebecca and husband Michael Adams, her dog Jake, and numerous nieces and nephews.
