Glenda Jean Briscoe, 83, passed away December 5, 2023, at Stillwater Creek Nursing Center. There will be a Celebration of Life at a future date. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.

Glenda was born January 23, 1940 in Wanette, Oklahoma to Elmore Travis Lamirand and Linda Reynolds. She graduated from Wanette High School. Glenda met Leroy Briscoe in July of 1959 and it was love at first sight. Three months later, on October 23, 1959, they were united in marriage in Stillwater. Together they owned and operated numerous businesses in and around Stillwater and accumulated many rental properties. In 1975 the couple divorced.

Glenda then went to work in the Elderly Care fields, and held numerous positions at Grace Living Center [now Stillwater Creek Nursing Center]. She loved working there. The residents were her second family. She worked there until she retired at the age of 73. She loved gardening, sewing, collecting roosters and her extensive cactus collection. But above all she loved her family. They were everything to her.

Glenda was preceded in death by her mother Linda Reynolds; her father Elmore Travis Lamirand; her brother Ray Reynolds; her sister Sharon Reynolds and her step-son Leroy Briscoe Jr.

Survivors are her daughter Linda Arthur and husband Bob; grandchildren Ashley Cervantes and husband Stevan, Bobby Arthur and wife Sadah Lasich, Sterling Arthur and wife Crystal and Stephanie Arthur; great-grandchildren Corbyn Arthur, Tanner Arthur, Macyn Simmons, Camden Cervantes, Taten Cervantes, Nolan Cervantes, Colton Ford, Cody Roberts and Kirsten Roberts.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Stillwater Creek Nursing Center for going above and beyond in taking care of Glenda.
