Obituary

With heavy hearts, we celebrate the life of Hattie Louvica Prather(Dole), who peacefully passed away on June 28, 2026 at the age of 88, in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Born on Valentine's Day in 1938, Hattie truly embodied the spirit of love throughout her life. She had a heart big enough for everyone and found joy in the colors, warmth, and happiness that surrounded the season of love. Her kindness, laughter, and gentle nature touched countless lives.

On October 19, 1963, she married the love of her life, Frank, beginning a beautiful journey that would span more than 62 years together. Their life together took them to the State of Texas and eventually back home to Oklahoma, where it all began ,they built a family, created lasting memories, and shared a lifetime of love. They were the true definition of opposites attract. Their differences complemented one another perfectly, bringing balance, laughter, and strength to their marriage. Through every move, challenge, and celebration, their commitment to one another never wavered. Together, they created a partnership rooted in love, devotion, and enduring friendship that served as an example to all who knew them.

One of Hattie's greatest joys was gathering her family around the table for meals filled with good food, stories, and laughter. She cherished every opportunity to spend time with loved ones and especially looked forward to seeing family and friends at Pow wow's. She carried immense pride in her Otoe-Missouria and Iowa heritage and passed that pride on to future generations through her stories, traditions, and example.

With gifted hands and a generous heart, she spent a lifetime as a seamstress, stitching together more than fabric—she stitched hope, joy, and cherished memories into the lives of others. She found her greatest happiness in taking someone's dream and bringing it to life, one careful stitch at a time. Every gown, every alteration, every creation reflected her patience, creativity, and love. Though her needle has been laid to rest, the beauty she created and the lives she touched will remain woven into the hearts of all who knew her

In addition to her many roles within her family, she dedicated herself to serving others as a special education teacher. She had a compassionate heart and a gift for helping children reach their potential.

Those who knew her will fondly remember her sense of humor. We often joked that Grandma was running on "Indian time," arriving just a little behind schedule. It became one of her endearing trademarks and always gave us something to smile about.
Hattie leaves behind a legacy of love, family, tradition, and resilience. Her presence brought comfort, her laughter brought joy, and her love brought people together. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the memories she gave us and the values she instilled in those who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives were blessed by her love.

"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day."
