H.R. "Bud" Moats, 95, died April 18, 2024. Services will be immediate family only. He will be laid to rest in the Resthaven Cemetery in Shawnee. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Bud was born February 18, 1929 to Wilfred John and Florence Hamft Moats in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He graduated Bethel High School and owned Moats Drilling Company for over 40 years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and Stillwater Bible Church.

Bud enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and was an avid Sooner fan.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Gene Wright.

Bud is survived by his daughters, Terri and husband Ron Gregory; Sandra and husband Rick Webb; and Karen Moats. Grandchildren include Gina and husband Joe Trail, Tina Gregory, Megan and husband Ryan Crozier, Jaclyn Webb; Seth Koble, and Jonna and husband Steven Crimi. Great grandchildren include Jersey Gregory, Brennon Riddle, Jax Riddle, Maizy Riddle, Liam Gregory, Hadley and Quinn Crozier, and Anthony Crimi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Stillwater Bible Church Building fund.
