Henry Elroy Sylvester, 84, of Stillwater passed on Monday, August 26, 2024. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Hyatt officiating. Burial will follow in the Clarkson Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Elroy was born in Mulhall on November 1, 1939, the son of Cleo and Elmina Sylvester. He graduated from Mulhall High School in 1957 and served in the US Army from 1958 - 1960. He was married to Donna Sue Longan in 1964. He retired from Swan Hose in Stillwater and then retired again from the City of Stillwater, Water Department.

Elroy enjoyed gardening and taking care of his livestock. During gardening season, you could always find him weeding or picking vegetables out of his garden.

Elroy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Geneva Coffman and his son Terry Dewayne.

Survivors include, his sons, Kenneth Ray Sylvester and wife Jamie of Edmond and Steven Jay Sylvester and wife Julie of Stillwater; three grandchildren, Tanner Jay Sylvester and wife Morgan, Hailey Lauren Sylvester, and Kennedy Grace Sylvester; siblings Tommy Ray Sylvester and wife Kay of Mulhall, Leo "Jack" Sylvester and wife Kathy of Moore, Jerry Dale Sylvester and wife Patty of Perry, and his sister, Patsy Milward and her husband Chuck of Glencoe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tanner Sylvester, Colby Milward, Tanner Bowden, Clay Bowden, Parker Nicholas and Cade Nicholas.
