Obituary

Perkins resident Inez Mae Walker, 72, passed away June 30, 2025 at her home.

Memorial services will be conducted by her family on Saturday, August 16, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at the Perkins Church of Christ

Inez was born January 2, 1953 in Bethany, Oklahoma to Ralph Keyes and Margaret "Juanita" (McPherson) Keyes. She graduated from Lawton High School and later took some classes at Cameron University. She married Robert G. "Jerry" Pierce in 1970. From this union two children were born; Jeri Ann and David Ray. She would later find love again and in 1992 married Delbert "Keith" Walker. They shared 29 years of marriage before his passing in 2021. She had worked as a cashier at Taft Grocery, retail at JC Penney, security, and working as a Support Assistant at the Lawton Indian Hospital, where she retired. Inez loved to bead Native American jewelry, crocheting, baking, cooking, and was a talented seamstress. She traveled the past few years with her daughter and family, going to places such as Tennessee, Arkansas, and Texas and spending weekends at the lake. She had lived in Oklahoma City, Van Nuys, Ca, Walters, OK, Lawton, OK, and moved to Perkins, OK to be closer to her daughter and lived out her days there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Keith, her son David Ray Pierce, one sister Linda Keyes, one brother, Earl "Thomas" Keyes, and one half-brother Joe Carl Swanda.

Survivors include a daughter: Jeri Coats and husband Christopher of Perkins, OK, stepdaughter: Cynthia Lonza and husband Frank of Crescent City, FL, stepson: Jeffrey Walker and wife Lana of Duncan, OK, granddaughters: Devon Weatherly and husband Matthew Schmidt of Fayetteville, AR, and Madison Coats of Perkins, OK, sisters: Margaret Cortez of Chino Valley, AZ, Betty Cortinas and husband Ray of Van Nuys, CA, and Arnita Pewewardy and husband Farley of Lawton, OK, brother: Harold "Ray" Keyes and wife Terrie of Las Vegas, NV, and numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
