Jerry Lewis Warden, 74, of Perkins, Oklahoma, passed away on October 7, 2023. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Stillwater Bible Church with burial following at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Jerry was born to Arthur Dean Warden and Elmira Mae (Berg) Warden on February 23, 1949 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. He attended and graduated from Glencoe Public Schools. Jerry was a journeyman carpenter and plumber. He worked for Oklahoma State University as a carpenter, and later retired from the Stillwater Public School Systems as head carpenter and maintenance supervisor. He started Accurate Plumbing Company and became a plumbing contractor.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army June 6, 1967 and was a Vietnam Veteran, serving 2 tours of duty in Long Bin Province, Vietnam. He was a helicopter mechanic who worked his way up to Crew Chief and door Gunner. Sergeant First Class (E7) Jerry L Warden retired from the Army on February 23, 2009 after serving in the Army Reserves.
Jerry married Bonita Bassell on June 18, 1970 in Stillwater until 1993. On July 7, 2001 he married Patricia Jean Drumm in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
Jerry and Patty enjoyed being members of the Tea Cup Square Dancers. They were active members of the local VFW Ollie O. Dykes Post 2027. They attended the Stillwater Bible Church. Jerry loved his church families. Jerry also enjoyed carpentry, square dancing, playing cards, his 1958 Impala Convertible, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids, and hanging out with his best friend, Buster.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Elmira and his brother Donald Warden.
Members of his family include Jeremy Warden, Wendy (Warden) Estes and husband Spencer, Kelly Warden and wife Brandi and Carol Eck. Grandchildren, Karson Niemann, Kameron Niemann, Chloe Estes, Carter Estes, Benjamin Estes, Isabella Estes, Madison (Warden) Criswell and Bentley Warden. His brothers, Dean and wife Betty, Bonnas and wife Jackie. His sisters, Phyllis (Warden) and husband Richard Summers and Judy (Warden) Wyant.
Pallbearers will be Carter Estes, Karson Neimann, Clayton Payne, Nate Walker, Matt Oakes and Billie Hall.
