John Frederick Dick, known to his friends as Fred, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2025, at the age of 74. A rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. A memorial mass will follow at 10:00 a.m.
Born on July 9, 1951, Fred grew up in Maryland before making Stillwater his lifelong home.
Fred was a devoted man of deep Catholic faith and a beloved member of his church community. He found his greatest joy in attending daily Mass and receiving the Eucharist. His fellow parishioners remember him as someone who treasured thoughtful conversations about God, the Blessed Mother Mary, Paradise, and the essential kindness of others.
Known for his great sense of humor and extensive knowledge on many subjects, Fred valued deep and meaningful connections. Even when health challenges confined him to his home, his spirit remained strong, and his faith never wavered. The daily Mass he once attended with such devotion became the one thing he missed most, however his love for God continued to sustain him.
Fred held profound appreciation for those who enriched his life through their ministry and friendship, particularly his St. Francis Xavier church family, his Mobile Meals family, his dedicated caregivers, and his many dear friends.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, J. Joseph Dick (1915-1969) and Evelyn Mae Foreman Dick (1920 - 2008).
He is survived by his brother, daughter, and other extended family members.
Fred's memory will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him and calling him friend. His friends take comfort knowing that Fred is now at peace in Heaven, free from pain and suffering, and reunited with God and his favorite saints.
