John Allen Dragoo, age 83, of Perkins, died Thursday, July 16 2026 at home surrounded by family.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Perkins, Oklahoma, with burial following in Norman IOOF Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

John Allen Dragoo was born to Wilbur E. Dragoo and Verna Dane (Higbee) Dragoo on August 31, 1942 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

John was a graduate of Norman High School, and later attended Central State University where he earned a Bachelors degree. John married Kay Lynn Crouch on July 27, 1963 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

John had a long career at OG+E for 33 years. John was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Central Oklahoma Classic Chevy Club, Perkins Lions Club, and a Member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation. He enjoyed fishing, participating in the Perkins city council, organizing car shows, taking fall foliage tours with Kay Lynn, tending to his yard, and piddling in his shop.

John is preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Dane, and his wife Kay Lynn.

He is survived by his children, John David Dragoo and Suzette Dragoo Barta; grandchildren Alec Barta (Sabina), Brandi Tindell (Steven), Nate Barta (Aspyn), Courtney Reneau (Curtis), Kyle Dragoo, and Carson Dragoo; and his great grandchildren, Blaze Barta, Ranger Barta, Gordon Tindell, Tanner Blankenship, Harper Reneau, and Paisley Reneau.
