John Wayne Leverich, Sr, 76, died August 27, 2024. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 2, 2024 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

John was born April 13, 1948 to James N. and Imogene (Hopkins) Leverich in Sacramento, California. John was a truck driver and he worked in the oilfield. He was also a newspaper carrier in Cushing, Oklahoma.

John enjoyed fishing, traveling, watching OU football, and playing Wahoo.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his brothers, Darrell, Bob, and Donnie; and his sister Vere O'Bryant.

He is survived by his son, John Leverich Jr. and his wife Angela; daughter Dorothy Bailey and her husband Jake; brothers James, Larry, and Gary; and his sister Georgia; as well as 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
