Johnny Wayne Bruce, age 54, of Perkins, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Johnny was born to Beverly Cook on September 10, 1969 in Temple, Texas. He is a graduate of Rogers High School. After graduation, he attended Temple Jr. College. At the time of his death, he was employed by National Standard in Stillwater as the Head Drumpack Operator.

On February 13, 2016 he married Candy Gaye (McIlvain) Bruce.

Johnny enjoyed fishing, loved helping others, and riding his motorcycle, especially with his wife. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandma, Nanny; Uncle Junior; and brother-in-law Jesse Hernandez.

He is survived by wife Candy Bruce; daughters Hailey Williams and husband James of Perkins and Amy Barrett of Perkins; sons Marc Williams of Oklahoma City and Clayton Barrett and wife April of Byron, Georgia; grandchildren Samatha Barrett, Hayden McManus, Augusta Hickox, Dylan Hackworth, Kamberlyn Barrett, Gabe Meadows, Emaleigh Spurlock, Owen Hardnack, Briar Williams and Jade Hardnack; sister Jeane Hernandez; and "Pop" Les Shirley.

Pallbearers will be Marc Williams, Clayton Barrett, Jerry Akins, Chris Bowman, Steve Barrett, Jackie McCormick, Loyd Romine, and Michael Ray Coomer. Honorary pallbearer is Kenny Pool.
