Obituary

Judy Bonner Prothro, age 79, of Perkins, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2026. A memorial service will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Jones Funeral Home in Crossett, Arkansas.

Judy was born January 31, 1947 to her parents, James Wilbur and Julia (Deer) Bonner in Goodwill, Louisiana. Judy adored spending time with her grandchildren and filled their lives with warmth, laughter, and love. She played the piano beautifully-often said to be "like Liberace" and taught piano lessons for many students. She was a member of the First Church of God and played piano for churches and choirs most of her life. She had a deep love for Christ that she instilled in her daughters and grandchildren as well.

She enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking, painting, sewing, and dancing, and was especially known for her delicious Southern cooking and homemade biscuits. Judy also had a remarkable green thumb and could bring life to any garden or room. She was affectionately known as having a "black belt in thrifting" and even received a humorous humanitarian award for rescuing the most cookbooks from garage sales.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Don Muenter (2005); her father, James W. Bonner (2001); her mother, Julia Elnora Bonner (2009); two brothers, Billy E. Bonner (2024) and James D. Bonner (2022); and one granddaughter, Brianna Rainey (2016).

She is survived by four daughters, Kathy Goodrich (Randy) of Bountiful, Utah, Carmella Canfield (Owen) of Crossett, Arkansas, Dianne Bonnette of Perkins, Oklahoma, and Monica Rainey (Andy) of Lake Village, Arkansas; one stepson, Adam Prothro (Dawn) of Mountainburg, Arkansas.

She also leaves behind grandchildren: Blayke Elliott, Andrew Abrahamson, Ben Rainey, Beth Rainey, Carson Rainey (Alisha), Beau Rainey (Kaitlyn), Bobby Rainey, Jr. (Jayden), Charley Rainey, Elijah Goodrich, Aaron Murry (Katie), Sara Dockery (Brandon), Jacob Murry (Lauren), Julia Johnson (Jacob), Savanah Rainey, Peyton Prothro, Brady Prothro, and Olivia Prothro.

She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Aubrianna and Noah Cannon, June Williams, Brayden Murry, Rosalie and Ivy Murry, Adrien Clifton, Ava Johnson.

Judy's laughter, music, and love of family will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Her kitchen, her piano, her generous spirit and infectious smile made the world a warmer place.
