June Gleghorn Willis, age 94, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Viewing at the funeral home will be from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 at Marena Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.


June was born August 31, 1931 in Mexia, Texas to Commodore Dewey and Elimina (Person) Gleghorn. She attended Conroe Community School and Sam Houston College.


June married the love of her life, Roland Willis, in Conroe, Texas on July 2, 1953. Together, they welcomed three daughters, Elesa, Nancy, and Wanda, over their early years of marriage. In the first six years of married life the family moved six times. A big part of her life was supporting Roland as he worked and traveled with the USDA Soil Conservation Service, including when he was appointed State Conservationist for Oklahoma, a position he held until retiring in 1987.


June also worked as a teacher, and was a member of the Mulhall Methodist Church. She loved horses, and especially enjoyed having coffee with friends.


June is preceded in death by her husband, both parents and her daughter Elesa Willis.

She is survived by her daughters Nancy Willis and Wanda Willis Clark.
