Obituary

Kathleen "Kathy" Gay Jackson, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on July 31, 2025, surrounded by love. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel.

Kathy was born September 26, 1952 to Clarence Alton Houston and Delores Marie Bradley. She lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. She graduated from C.E. Donart High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in home economics from Oklahoma State University.

Kathy worked as a dietitian at Stillwater Medical Center, where she met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Keith Jackson, in August 1977. He proposed just weeks later, on top of a set of monkey bars, and they were married December 20, 1977, at First Christian Church. Upon their marriage, Kathy gained a daughter, Dayna Lynn Bellah, and she treasured the time they spent together.

Kathy and Bob shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. They enjoyed traveling, working puzzles, and playing games together. Kathy was also an avid knitter and gifted many handmade items to family and friends.

A devoted OSU baseball fan, Kathy was affectionately known as the "Cookie Lady" by players and coaches. In the mid-1980s, she began baking cookies weekly for the team and sending goodie bags for road games. At one point, the team estimated she had baked more than 50,000 cookies over the years.

Kathy lived out her faith with grace and dedication. She was involved in Campus Crusade for Christ, Alliance Bible Church, and a home-based Bible study group. She will be remembered for her compassion, quiet strength, and the way she made others feel loved and valued.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; bonus daughter and son-in-law, Dayna and Cliff Bellah; grandchildren, Brandon and Megan Taylor, Stacy and Nick Bombardiere, Courtney Bellah and Michael Doolin; and great-grandchildren, Keylee, Bellah, Colton, Jaycie, Jessah, Eli, Gabriella, and Nova.

She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Marianna Houston; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Gene Carlson; and nieces and nephews, James, Greg, Eric, Laura, Dan, Heather, Zach, and several great-nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, as well as Becca and Denise with Complete Hospice Care in Enid, who ensured Kathy was comfortable in her final days.

In lieu of customary remembrances the family requests memorial donations be made in Kathy's honor to the American Cancer Society.
