In Loving Memory of Kay Annette Zuck Westmoreland Lewter
Kay, age 80, of Stillwater, passed away on August 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 8, 1944, Kay was a beloved mother and friend who touched the lives of everyone she met.
Kay was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1962. She was married 38 years to her high school sweetheart, Gary Ernest Westmoreland. They had a long and loving relationship raising their two beautiful daughters. She then married Alan Lewter with whom she enjoyed traveling around the world. After the marriage ended, she returned home to Stillwater and happily spent many years back in her community living in her cherished home with her beloved dog, Sophie.
Kay had a passion for gardening and found great joy in nurturing her flowers. Her garden was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace and a deep connection to nature. She was known for her green thumb and loved sharing her flowers with others and her gardening knowledge with friends.
Christmas was Kay's favorite time of year, and her home was always a festive wonderland during the holiday season. She delighted in decorating her house with themed trees adorned with unique ornaments, and elaborate displays of her Snow Village collection. Her extravagant Clothtique Santa collection was showcased in every room of her home which brought joy to all who visited. Her Christmas spirit was infectious, and she created cherished memories and traditions for her family and friends that will last a lifetime.
Kay was a woman of many talents. She was a great hostess and enjoyed planning parties. She enjoyed watching sports - especially her OSU and Dallas Cowboys. She had a passion for taking pictures that captured many wonderful moments and memories of her family growing up and her world-wide travel. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and several community organizations including PEO, Newcomers, Late Bloomers Garden Club, Beta Sigma Phi and an honorary member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Kay was the sponsor of TOG (a high school sorority) opening her home every Monday evening for meetings for many years. She had a long and dedicated career as a hair stylist for over forty years. Her legacy of love, positivity, and passions will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Kay is survived by her two loving daughters, Christy Lynn Westmoreland Myers (Michael) of Rockwall, Texas and Cathy Sue Westmoreland of Edmond, Oklahoma as well as her grandchildren, Gary Michael Myers (Kelli), and Nicole Elizabeth Myers Hinckley (Andrew) and great grandchildren Jonathan Magnus Myers, Holland Maven Myers and Presley Noelle Hinckley. She also leaves behind Lana Franks (like a third daughter) of Edmond, as well as many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul E. Zuck and Vera Gertrude (Rossander) Zuck Lang, as well as her step-father August Joseph Lang, her sisters Pauline Zuck Adkins, and Twyla Zuck Sherman.
Viewing will be held at Strode Funeral Home on Monday, September 2nd from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held on September 3, 2024, at 10:30 am at First United Methodist Church, 400 W. 7th Avenue, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Burial following at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kay's name to the charity of your choice.
