With family at her side, Kristi Lynn Sparks, Age 49, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A visitation with family greeting friends will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2025 at Strode Funeral Home. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.


Kristi was born October 12, 1975, in Des Moines, Iowa to Mary Joyce and James A. McCarthy II. Kristi grew up in the Kansas City area where she graduated from Shawnee Mission West in Kansas.


In 2006 Kristi met and fell in love with Casey Doyle Sparks. On April 12, 2007, Kristi and Casey married in Lenexa, Kansas where they made their home for several years. Later moving to Cedar Rapids, IA and then settling in Norman, Oklahoma.


Kristi loved children and was a preschool teacher for many years. She had the best sense of humor and made friends wherever she went and was a true and loyal friend.


Kristi was preceded in death by both of her parents. She was a loving daughter, sister and friend but most of all she was a loyal and loving wife to her husband Casey.


Left behind to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 18 years, her brothers Tim McCarthy of Dallas, Texas and Todd McCarthy and his son T.J. of Olathe, Kansas. She is also survived by her in-laws Beverly and Max Andrews of Stillwater, brothers-in-law Aaron Andrews of Ft. Worth, Texas and Adam Andrews and his wife Miranda of Norman, Oklahoma as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins.
