Obituary

Larry Lynn Lowe, 82, of Perkins, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on July 6, 2025. A celebration of life will be 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at the Progress Community Building, 12803 S. Cottonwood Road, Perkins, Oklahoma. Lunch will be served. Kindly RSVP to naturekids1@hotmail.com if you plan to attend for lunch.

Larry was born on March 28, 1943, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, to Leonard Loraine Lowe and Thelma Fern Davis, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up in Coyle and proudly attended Coyle Public Schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. He often spoke of his perfect school attendance-though he was quick to admit many of those days were spent offsite for Vo-Ag activities, which he loved.

Larry served honorably in the Oklahoma Army National Guard as a member of Company C, 120th Engineer Battalion, 45th Infantry Division, based at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas.

He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone and remained with the company through many transitions until retirement, always adapting as names and ownership changed over the years. Larry was also a longtime and active member of the Perkins Round-Up Club and the Moose Lodge #2089 of Stillwater. You could often find him helping out at the rodeos or running the bingo games at the Moose.

A man of many interests, Larry found joy in the outdoors-fishing, hunting, riding horses, and searching for morel mushrooms in the spring, as well as, watching old Westerns and Oklahoma State Cowboy sports. He loved to cook ribs for family, friends, and others, and spent countless hours visiting with his kids and grandkids. His greatest peace was found on his ranch, where he raised cattle and horses for many years.

Larry was strong in his faith and his beliefs, and while he didn't always wear his heart on his sleeve, those who knew him best understood the depth of his love and loyalty.

He is survived by his sister, Pat Moorman; his children, Lori (Lowe) Nicholson and her husband David, Lonny Lowe and his wife Rebecca (Cooper) Lowe; stepchildren, Tonda Logue, J.D. Logue and his wife Lavonne; and his grandchildren, Tia Nicholson, Aliza Lowe, James Cooper, Nathan Cooper and Carter Cooper. He also leaves behind his nephews Danny and David Moorman, and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ladema Todd (mother of his two children); his wife, Carole (Logue) Lowe; his brother-in-law Bob Moorman; and his niece Darla (Moorman) Duncan.

Larry's life was full of stories, laughter, and the kind of grit that comes from living close to the land. He will be deeply missed.
