Lenna Faye Harelson Kordis was born in Kilgore, Texas on October 31, 1938 (the night was Orson Wells's radio broadcast of the War of the Worlds), and she passed away on December 13, 2024, in Perry, Oklahoma. A celebration of life will begin 11:00 Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Stillwater First Assemble of God. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Madelyn Harelson, her brother Richard Harelson, and daughters-in-law, Debbie Lee and Brenda Lee Kordis.
She is survived by her son, Gene Lee; daughter and son-in-law, Regina and Charles Glandon; son Richard Lee; daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and Chip Cherry; and son Kenneth Kordis. She is survived by thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and his wife, John and Sherry Harelson.
In 1966 she started college at Oklahoma State University with three young children and one on the way. She graduated from OSU in 1971 with a degree in education. She graduated with her master's degree in mathematics from Oklahoma Central State University in 1977. She started teaching math at Western Heights public high school in 1971. She taught Math and Computer Science there and other schools, along with OSU other universities.
She enjoyed riding horses, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God in Norman when she lived in Noble, OK. She was active in the Cleveland County jail ministry and the children's church ministry.
