Leta Mae German, age 93, of Stillwater, died Friday, May 24, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2024 at Mehan Union Church. Burial following in Fairlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are Heath Hix, Derek Moody, Renneth Berry, Will Lewis, Lee Mason, and Mike Waters. Honorary pallbearers are Ken Pifer, Bill Brunton, and Denver Hall. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Leta was born to Claud Lesley Abbott and Flossie Jane Adams Abbott on July 4, 1930 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She married Marion Isadore German on May 22, 1950, and together they were dairy farmers. Leta was a wonderful cook and could often be found in the kitchen or bringing lunch to the hayfield. She made the best pies in the county.
To this union was Linda Sue German (deceased at birth), Carol Pifer and Ken, Jacquie L. Rose, Marion Isadore German Jr (Mick) and Nancy, adopted sons Denver Hall and Bill Brunton, sister-in-law Judy German and brother Marvin Abbott. She is survived by 9 grandchildren Christi Mason (Lee), Heather Graham (Phillip), Heath Hix (Michelle), Teresa Brunnemer (David), Megan Rose, Amanda Moody (Derek), Amy Waters (Mike), Leslie Lewis (Will), Taylor Berry (Renneth), nineteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren and in laws Bill and Loraine German.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved the Lord and was a good and faithful servant on this earth. She played a mean game of dominoes. She was a lifetime member of Diamond Valley Church, Diamond Valley Quilters, Diamond Valley Diva Red Hats, 20th Century Book Club, and Star Valley Home Extension.
She is preceded in death by her husband Marion German, Daughter Linda, parents Claud and Flossie Jane, brother Jim Abbott, sister Retha and Paul Rathbun, brother in law Robert "Bob" German, and grandson Andrew Hix.
