Lorraine Frances Cosden, 81, passed away on November 24, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM, December 12, 2025 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.


Lorraine had been a resident of Stillwater, Oklahoma, for nearly three years and previously made her home in Noble, Oklahoma. Born on October 30, 1944, in the Bronx, New York, Lorraine was the daughter of Eleanor Frances May McCall and Andrew Rocco Starace. In 1964, she married her high school sweetheart and lifelong partner, Steve Cosden, with whom she shared a devoted and enduring union.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Steve; her daughter, Gina Cosden, and spouse Susan Fielder of Stillwater; her sons Bill Cosden and wife Lauren of Georgia, Richard Cosden of Georgia, and Michael Cosden and wife Theresa of Stillwater. Lorraine and Steve also lovingly raised their grandson, Anthony Cosden. She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of immense pride and joy.

A dedicated Army wife and mother, Lorraine supported her husband throughout his military career, during which she had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout Europe. Following Steve's retirement, Lorraine worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant before earning her college degree. She went on to build a meaningful career as an early childhood educator and later as a family advocate with Community Action. Her work reflected her lifelong passion for helping children and supporting families in need.

Lorraine will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the warmth she extended to everyone she met. She touched many lives and was deeply loved by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be profoundly missed.
