Lyle Van Arnold, 77, sadly and suddenly passed away on January 16, 2024 due to complications of emergency heart surgery. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 21, 2024. Funeral services will be at 5:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2024 at Strode Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of life will follow the service at The Stillwater Community Center from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Lyle was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Floyd and Yula Arnold on June 30, 1946.

Lyle served as a E6 aboard the USS Garrett County LST-786/AGP-786 in the US Navy from 1965 - 1969 and fought for our country in Vietnam. Following his service in the Navy, he joined the United States Postal Service and retired after 40 years of service.

In 1989, he married the love of his life, Margorie. His love and devotion to his "Poops" after 35 years is something people dream of. He loved spoiling her and swinging her around the dance floor. He would do absolutely anything in the world for his soul mate, his partner, and his best friend.

After retirement, they moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. After realizing retirement didn't suit him, he got a job at Stillwater Middle School. He loved the great relationships he built with the staff and the students absolutely adored him.

Lyle's life revolved around his family. In his downtime, Lyle loved spending time with his grandkids doing anything that made them happy. Whether that is going to the park, giving them $5 to spend at the Dollar Tree, cheering them on at sporting events, or just sitting back eating popcorn and watching Disney movies.

Lyle is preceded in death by his father Floyd Arnold, Mother Yula Arnold, brother Raymond Arnold, and son Eddie Arnold.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Margorie Arnold; daughters Christie and her husband Brad Wilcox, Melissa and her husband Robert Plake; sons Kevin Arnold and wife Darci Arnold, Bobby and his wife Reena Henley, and Joey and his wife Bree Henley; grandchildren Logan Plake, Brody Plake, Colton Young, Brandon Arnold, Bailey Arnold, Alizabeth Arnold, Kaiden Arnold, Kellen Arnold, Kameron Arnold, Kaleb Henley, Maron Henley, Karrie McDonald, Kalie Kinsey, Kaden Kinsey and three great grand kids; sister Alice Whaley-Cheney; stepsisters Sue Galle, Gay Ranellone, Ann Schiminski, and many loved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Jennifer and Tom Weslock, AJ Hennington, John Toves, and Simberleigh Turnbo for their help, dedication, and friendship they have shown us always.
