Obituary

Margaret Ann Rider passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Loved ones visited her and surrounded her in the days prior to her passing. A graveside funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at the Perkins Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma.

Margaret was born on July 25, 1945 in Tryon, OK and spent 78 wonderful years spreading love, joy, sarcasm, and sass to any and all around her. At any moment you could find her being as sweet as can be or complaining for no reason other to complain. She was a worrier and a gossip, but loved her family and would give help to anyone needing a hand.

Her favorite pastimes included shopping and collecting knickknacks. Over the years she amassed numerous collections of McDonalds happy meal toys, beanie babies, dolls, roosters, and butterflies. She loved going to play bingo and watching gameshows. She enjoyed playing Skip-bo and spent much of her time watching basketball and other sports; specifically her beloved OKC Thunder. She could always be found shopping at Walmart or thrift stores or getting a coke with extra ice.

Margaret was one of 10 children born to Clarence and Violet (Gaither) Brake who preceded her in death in 1975 and 2007. She is also preceded in death by siblings, James Oliver Brake, Donald Brake, Bertha Mae Fisher, Vernon Brake, Juanita June Wyant, Nina Faye Drake, and Wilbur Brake. She is also preceded in death by her ex-husbands, Charles White and John Rider, and son David Scott White who passed away as an infant.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" (White) Guidry, grandchildren, Brandy Guidry, Erica Clinkenbeard (Erik Clinkenbeard-husband), Megan Guidry, and Courtney Lyons (Alyssa Lyons- wife), great-grandchildren, Kyeleigh, Beyleigh, Zachary, Kaedyn, Korbyn, Elizabeth, Pauline, Gabriel, and Finley, and great-great-grandchildren, Focvte, Meeko, Jordan, and Aliza. She is additionally survived by siblings Charles Brake and Donna Rashidifard as well as a large, sprawling family of cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other extended family; something that gave her much joy in life.

Margaret was a beautiful, loving, funny, sassy, and comforting woman until the very end. May she rest in peace and forever be remembered.
