It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mariann Miller, 79, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, who passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026. Her memorial service will take place at 10:00 Tuesday July 14, 2026, at Frist Christian Church, 411 W. Mathews Ave, Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Born on May 29, 1947, in San Francisco, Mariann grew up in California. She worked for the state board of education in Oregon before moving to Tennessee and finally Oklahoma. Mariann served the Stillwater community through many years of working for the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce. During her time at the Chamber, Mariann played a vital role in developing the ‘Leadership Stillwater’ program. She also was instrumental in recruiting Armstrong World Industries to set up a flooring plant on the outskirts of Stillwater, creating jobs for hundreds. Mariann was committed to a life of public service. She served on a wide range of boards and committees, including Stillwater Planning Committee and the Stillwater Medical Hospital Board. As an active member of the wider Stillwater community, Mariann volunteered and served as a BBQ judge, SkyWarn storm-spotter, and community response advocate for the Rape Crisis hotline. Mariann was an active member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Stillwater for many years.

Mariann is survived by her two children Jill (Anthony) Palma; Melissa (Terry) Moynahan; and her beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Cailee, Ethan, Seth, Naomi, Matthew, Joel; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ella, Rainey, Noelle, Jasper; 4 step-children and numerous step-grandchildren; nephew Austin, and niece Ashlie. She was predeceased by her parents Melvin and Anna; brothers Melvin Kimbrell and Tom Kimbrell; 2 half-sisters; granddaughter Carman Rice. The family takes comfort that Mariann is now at peace and reunited with the love of her life, husband, Melvin D. Miller, who preceded her in death in 2015.

Mariann Miller will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her infectious smile, and her boundless capacity for love and giving. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her.
