Mary Hassell Elliott, of Stillwater Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday March 11, 2026, in the compassionate care of Luminos Hospice. Funeral services to celebrate Mary's life will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

Mary was born May 29, 1943, to Leo and Juanita (Goin) Hassell in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. The Hassell family resided in the Okmulgee area throughout Mary's childhood. Mary graduated from Okmulgee High school in 1961 and went on to attend Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

She married Francis (Frank) Elliott on August 2, 1973, who she loved greatly until the day of his passing. Mary and Frank raised their family in the Anadarko area until later relocating to Stillwater. Frank and Mary loved Stillwater and became intrenched in the community. Mary participated in many community and church groups in addition to proudly serving in numerous athletic and academic parent organizations.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Frank Elliott and her parents Leo and Juanita Hassell.

She is survived by two sons, Kriss Elliott and wife Melissa of Frisco, Texas; John Elliott and wife Patty of Brooklyn, New York; her daughter Holly Clapp and husband John of Stillwater; seven grandchildren, Kara, Kaitlin, Madison, Avery, Johni, Carson and Payton. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Elliott and her parents Leo and Juanita Hassell.
