Michael Daviss of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026.
Michael was born February 13, 1946 to W.C. and Proscovie (Hutton) Daviss in Fredrick, Oklahoma. After elementary and secondary education in multiple cities and states Michael chose to move to Stillwater to further his education, acquiring a bachelor's degree in journalism in 2001.
In various careers Michael most enjoyed employment in radio productions. He believed everyone needs to engage in civic duties and community service - serving for a time as a poll worker and on various community committees. An Air Force veteran and a proud citizen, he believed strongly in the support of our veterans.
He had numerous interests and hobbies. Perhaps his favorite hobbies were music, history and fishing. Many of his Stillwater friends developed through his love of fishing and finding that next sweet pond.
Michael is survived by his son Michael Daviss and grandson Isaiah Daviss both of Houston, Texas; his sister Rose Henderson; nieces Angela Henderson, Selena Thomas, and Carmilitta Henderson of Lawton; cousins Jerome and Donna Bond of Oklahoma City; uncle Quentin Pollard, nephew Kenny Loggins and aunt Ruby of Lawton.
Having experienced food insecurity at times in his life it is suggested memorial giving be made to Our Daily Bread and Resource Center of Stillwater.
